Mbappe on the possibility of facing Real Madrid in champions League round of 16: “They tried to warn us”

Paris Saint-Germain achieved a difficult victory over the Italian team, Juventus, 2-1, in the match that took place between them yesterday evening, Wednesday, in Turin, in the last round of the group stage competitions.

Despite the victory, Paris Saint-Germain qualified for the Round of 16 in second place, where Benfica ranked first after the two teams were equal in the number of points and direct confrontations, but a new rule was invoked, which is that the Portuguese team scored more goals away from home than the Parisian team.

His qualification as group runner-up put him in a difficult situation as Paris Saint-Germain will face one of these teams in the round of 16: Real Madrid (Spain) – Napoli (Italy) – Porto (Portugal) – Manchester City (England) – Bayern Munich (Germany) – Chelsea ( England) – Tottenham Hotspur (England).

This means that the confrontation of Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid may be repeated again, as happened in the last edition, where the French team was eliminated by Ancelotti’s men.

After the match between Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus, Kylian Mbappe talked about qualifying for second place and said in comments carried by the Spanish newspaper Marca: “During the match, we did not know what was happening, but in the end they tried to warn us. We came to do the job, but that wasn’t enough.  In the end we qualified, it didn’t matter anymore.”

And about the possibility of facing Real Madrid in the draw for the round of 16, the European Champions League top scorer, along with Mohamed Salah, said: “We will see the draw and we will play to win.”
